Family Members

Any person meeting the criteria of a Family Member has the right for burial in the Niska Memorial Cemetery.

A Family Member is defined as a person who is:

  • a direct descendant of Peter or Eva Niska

  • married to, in a legally recognized civil union, or in a similar relationship with a direct descendant

There is no fee for any Family Member to be buried in the cemetery. However, donations are accepted and are tax deductible.

Non Family Members

Individuals who do not meet the definition of Family Member can still be eligible for burial in the cemetery.

A Non Family Member can be eligible if they are:

  • directly related to an individual who was buried in the cemetery on or before July 15, 2011

  • sponsored by a Family Member

There is a fee of $300 per burial site (a single plot). However, requests for deferred payments, installments, or waived fees can be made.

Making a Request

A request can be made either to reserve a site in advance of a death, or for the burial for someone who has died. The request must be made in writing by completing a request form.

You can complete an online form that you fill out and submit electronically, or a printable / downloadable form that you download to email, or print to send in the mail.
